The prestigious Singapore International Band Festival (SIBF) is a celebration of musical excellence, bringing together top-tier bands from around the globe to showcase their talents in a friendly yet competitive atmosphere. This year, the festival's Concert Division Competition promises to be a highlight, with two outstanding Singaporean ensembles taking the stage: the PAssionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble and VENTUS. The PAssionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble's "MUCH ADO ABOUT FORM" invites the audience into a deep exploration of musical structure and the human experience, while the VENTUS's program promises a vibrant and varied journey through celebratory, natural, and cosmic themes. Together, these performances embody the spirit of the Singapore International Band Festival, celebrating musical excellence and the rich tapestry of the wind ensemble repertoire. Results for all the various division competitions will be announced at the end of this concert. Artists PAssionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble, Conductor: Mohamad Rasull Established in 1992 under the People’s Association, the PAssionArts AudioImage Wind Ensemble is a 70-member group residing in Siglap South Community Centre, a nationally designated Centre of Excellence for Performing Arts. Our ensemble fosters a space for passionate musicians to pursue their craft beyond the familiar confines of schools and institutional bands. We aim to be a platform for our musicians to broaden their experiences in music performances of varying styles, thereby enhancing individual and ensemble musicianship skills. Ultimately, we aspire to be a community band that strikes a balance between promoting artistry, music education, and entertainment. VENTUS, Conductor: Adrian Chiang VENTUS is a wind ensemble by Ventus Music Ltd, bringing Singaporeans together through a shared passion for wind band music. Comprising educators, music professionals and passionate hobbyists, the members of the ensemble are all united by a commitment to music-making of the highest calibre. The group believes that music is a universal language that empowers, entertains, and educates. It is their ultimate hope that through VENTUS, they connect with passionate young musicians—and build a culture of warm guidance and mentorship for youths to root their seeds and spread their wings.
